Janczak is my Councilman and I WILL NOT be voting for him for another term! I called his office prior to the meeting last week and asked him to let the citizens of Temple vote on the issue. I guess his pocketbook means more to him that his constituents!

I believe it only takes 1500 signatures on a petition to require a vote on an issue. How hard would it be for a handful of people to gather these? That is what is being done right now with the liquor issue right now. The only difference is that someone has hired a firm to gather the required amount of signatures.

Well Tony it appears that three fifths of the council members are just like the bunch we have in Bell County and in Washington DC. No ethics! We need to vote them all out! Their vote at the meeting Thursday sorta reminded me of three guys (really...the two with dirty noses) on trial and they were also members of the jury. Just good "clean" stuff!

The cleanup starts with the home, the city, county, state, and if it's not too late...Washington DC.

And.....Russell really knows better!

So should the whole neighborhood be subjected to 2+ weeks of looking at somone's trash. What about those people trying to sell their homes? I think brush could be done as-is but bulk trash should be scheduled or you pay to have it picked up.

I disagree with dated pick-ups. People move out..and put out trash. People have a long weekend...and clean their yard. These things are not scheduled around the City's pick-up dates. It's a great concept...that doesn't work.

I guess we'll see what Schneider, Jones, and Janczak think about the voters on Thursday. There is just no good reason to not let the voters decide this issue once and for all.

I think that people should know their "bulky item" pickup dates, and if they choose to put large items out more than 2 days ahead of those dates, they should be charged for an additional pickup. This will not only help pay for the haul-off process but may deter them from creating an undesirable "curb appeal" in the future.

I also want to commend you for your stand. I can't help but believe that you will eventually be able to get this on the ballot.
